Today my wife took the car to The Citroen Clinic in Nottingham for an initial diagnosis (great service so far by the way). By listening to the noise on tickover, the guys strongly suspect DMF wear, requiring a DMF and clutch replacement. Since the start of the problems I have had issue with the clutch slipping in 6th gear. This was resolved when the master cylinder was replaced the first time but not the second/third times. Is it possible for the master cylinder fault to have caused the clutch slipping problem? I have asked the citroen dealer but they said no. I've seen a few threads on Diesel starting problems but these appear to relate to older vehicles (unless I'm missing something).
